Come Back Old Iron Blue depicts a typical rural Jamaican Village life of the sixties. It describes life in the rural district of Rabbit Wall where during those times there was no running water or electricity. There was not even a Motor Vehicle in the district until a man by the name of Pappy McDonald decided to buy a Motor Car, the community spirit, togetherness and relationship is evident in the way the people live and interact with each other. The main character Old Iron Blue known is a gluttonous man. His Personality and deportment result in many humourous situations. Armed with his wits and his dog Bulrush by his side he can overcome any obstacle. The book depicts the cultural mores of the Jamaican people with a wry sense of humour. It is fun and educational.
